The organizers of the event Batimat have decided to emphasize the energy efficiency of buildings. Presenting the project Habitat Zero carbon, an exhibition of 100m2 is related to the event’s objectives.
Wood had been chosen for the building’s frame. Built by the company Charpente Cénomane, the module is using the ecolabelled wood, local (if possible) in order to reduce the impact related to transportation. This prototype is an economical settlement; it respects the rules imposed by BBC Effinergie. In the center of the module, there is also established a scenography which emphasizes the solutions that allow to obtain a neutral carbon assessment.
The prototype Habitat Zero Carbon had obtained the financial support of two major institutional organizations: the association France Bois Forêt and Codifab. This prototype is representing more than a commercial product, it is a true pedagogical demonstration presented to French and international professionals.
