Wooden Theater was built in the 19th century as a summer pavilion for tourists who were on vacation. Construction lasted for two centuries, even during war and the siege of Leningrad. Another wooden theater was preserved only in Moscow. The wooden theater was the favorite place of the imperial family and high officials.
It was built in summer 1827 during the 40 days. The theater`s restoration project has been appreciated by foreign colleagues, who gave it a gold medal at an exhibition in Germany. At the beginning of the summer, a new stage will be open and the first theater season will start in autumn.
