Thanks to the exploitation of thousands of hectares of forests, the french department of Vosges takes an important place in franch economy of wood and paper industry.
The 280.000 of hectares of forests have turned wood into one of the biggest richness and ressources of Vosges department. Forestry, forestry exploitation and wood working (parquet, wooden boxes, paletts etc.) or furniture industry, all these have contributed at wood developpement.
Vosges departement is one step forward concerning a sustainable forest management, an international label which impose exploitation and production canons.
Concerning wood constructions, the French department emphasizes a habitat with a big quality that respects the environmental rules and gives priority to eco materials.
