In the first quarter of 2009, in Bulgaria, the turnover of sales of wood decreased by 44.6%, shows the survey made by "SFB Capital Market" having as theme the development of the forestry sector in Bulgaria.
Compared with the first quarter of 2008, imports declined by almost 2 times. The export of wood was also reduced, decreasing by 21.3%.
Most of the wood processing and wood products are consumed on the domestic market. Sales of enterprises in the sector are increasingly smaller in comparison with the first three months of 2008.
