The companies members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bulgaria asked the state to take concrete measures to reduce the negative impact of the economical crisis.
First, the companies from this industry asked to be provided with support to facilitate the obtaining of funds from the European Union. Another proposal was that the state institutions to be equipped with furniture produced only on the national market, by the Bulgarian companies.
Companies from the wood and furniture industry have requested state aid in order to participate to fairs and exhibitions. They also want to be changed the criteria by which the price of wood is set on the market.
They sought to improve access roads through the forest fund regional development and infrastructure; change policy for the sale of wood from state forests.
At the end of the requests, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bulgaria focused on accelerating the procedure of elaboration and adoption of new laws on forests, to ensure long-term contracts for processing services and sales of timber.
It also proposes speeding up the certification of forests, because now certified forests in the country are below 3%.
