Dmitriy Medvedev, called the goal number 1 the development of wood branch on Russian Federation territory.
“This is a difficult problem, in the chronic stage. The objective number 1 consists in the fact that the essential wood stage processing, the deep processing of timber must be held in Russia”- said Medvedev during the talks held on Thursday, 21 May, with Habarovsk region Governor Vyacheslav Shport.
”The whole VAT value (related to wood processing industry) should remain here and not transferred to our partners, regardless of good relations with them” - noted the President.
Shport told Medvedev about the great construction project of timber mill in the province. The Governor announced that production is proposed to run in place of old cellulose and board mill from Amursk. He added that investment for this project exists.
Among other major investment projects in Habarovsk region, the Governor has made public the reconstruction of Habarovsk Oil Mill, which was visited by President of Russian Federation, during the Thursday. According to Shport allegations, in the region there are also a major investment projects in the aircraft industry and shipbuilding.
Regarding to Oil Mill construction, the President of Russian Federation said that such projects - “are rather exceptions, in the region there are lot of other problems”.
”The Habarovsk region Industry has all the merits and simultaneously shortcomings of Russian industry - insufficient funding, lack of orders and investments”, added Medvedev.
