Cascade Empire, the local reprezentative of austian group, Holzindustrie Schweighofer Romania, has aquired 8.000 forest hectares in Harghita, Covasna, Hunedoara, Arges and Suceava. The cost of this transaction is estimated at 20 million euro.
Lucian Petre, Cascade Empire official stated that the forests have been purchased over a longer period of time. Through their 2 factories in Romania, the company processes softwood. Consequencely, the company has aquired specific forestry sectors.
Holzindustrie Schweighofer is present in Romania through its two factories located in Sebes and Radauti. So far, the company has invested over 20 million euro in buying Romanian forestry sectors.
Mr. Petre added that the company intends to byu over 10.000 hectares of forest. Currently, a forest is estimated at 3000 euro, but the Cascade Empire official expects a diminish in prices, over the next period of time.
